What Kind Of Gifts Can Be Presented In A Wedding?

Wedding Gift
The presence of every near and dear one and the feeling of wedding is the most precious gift for any bride and groom in the Christian Matrimony, as per my opinion. To have a memorable wedding day, you must have your family and closest friends joining you, as being part of the celebrations make the couple really overwhelming. It becomes obvious for the invitees to bring some gift for the bride and groom, as a token of love and blessings. Everyone attending the wedding likes to give away the best wedding gifts to the couple, such that they remember them always and show that they are important to you.

It is not at all important to present very expensive gifts, what is important, is to give useful and unusual gifts, which are of some use to the recipient. If you are close to the couple then you can ask them what type of present they would like to receive. Always keep in mind that the couple will be starting a new life, hence you must give away the stuff that can be useful in long run, such as kitchen accessories, electronic and electrical goods, home décor items, etc.

You can also create some creative and personalized gifts, make good use of your creative imagination and prepare some homemade stuff, and I am sure that everyone would definitely like and appreciate that! You can search Internet and get some gift ideas to design the customized gifts for the couple in Catholic Matrimony.

You can also customize a nice and big photo frame of the couple and gift them this exclusive present. Similarly, you can present some basket of memories and pictures and stay alive in the couple’s memories. It’s the feeling behind gift which is important; rest things take the back seat.

Feast of Punjabi Dishes at a Wedding

Punjabi Dishes
Punjabi cuisine is known for lip smacking delicacies. Whenever you think of Punjabi food, delicious dishes come to the mind, which have loads of butter and ghee in it. At the time of wedding of my friend’s sister, who was the Punjabi bride, we all friends gorged on such tasty and delicious food, without bothering about the oil and butter. The wedding was a very lavish one, but the concentration of our group was only on food, so I would like to discuss only about the food that we had in the Punjabi matrimony, all thanks to the Punjabi brides

I had eaten Dal Makhni so many times earlier, but the taste, which I got there in the Punjabi matrimony, was incomparable. The Paranthas, stuffed with seasonal vegetable and served with chunks of white butter and curd, tastes like heaven. Among the vegetarian dishes, I loved to eat paneer tikka, which is cottage cheese roasted over mild fire of tandoor, with some spices and veggies.

Buttermilk mixed with saffron (lassi), almond and pistachio milk, exotic sherbets, kulfi and Panjiri were there for sweet tooth.

Fried and baked fish, tandoori chicken, kebabs, butter chicken, pulao, and a number of mutton and chicken curries were there as the non-vegetarian delights. Extensive use of spices and herbs were used in the dishes that enhanced the taste of food, and also imparted a very rich aroma to them.

Not only non-vegetarian dishes, there were so many vegetarian delicacies for vegetarians in that Punjabi matrimony. “Sarso da saag” and “Makki di roti” were cooked on demand, as people wanted to have the original and sumptuous taste. Kadai paneer, cooked in thick gravy, butter naan, paneer butter masala, amritsari chole and a lot many vegetarian food items were there that made my day.

After gorging on such delicious servings, all I can say is that Punjabi cuisine is awesome, avoid the calories it contains, and indulge in the savoury flavours.

Sumptuous Gujarati Cuisine for Gujarati Matrimony

The Indian culture has so many colours. I really love the way every state presents itself as a pioneer in culinary skills. Similar is the case with the Gujarati community, where you can find a number of food items, which are so healthy, while being spicy. This makes the Gujarati cuisine so unique from other culinary traditions of India.

Celebrations in Gujarati matrimony are simple affairs, and so is the food. The dishes are very traditional and customary. Gujarati community is one of the communities where almost all are vegetarians; however, vegetarianism has its roots in religious ideologies and beliefs of the community.

If you taste the Gujarati cuisine, you will find that how simple it is and has such an awesome blend of exquisite flavours and textures. A typical Gujarati Thali in the Gujarati matrimony contains Rotli, Daal, Bhaat, Shaak, chatni, pickles, papad, curd, farsans, sweet meats, etc. The dishes in a gujarati thali does not end here, there are a number of other dishes also, whose names are also unknown to other communities.

Some of the interesting and savoury dishes that are served in the weddings are Dhokla, Khandvi, Patra, Ondhiyu, etc.  I have not seen such tasty use of vegetables and lentils. These are used to prepare a varied number of snacks, sweet meats, etc., which can be accompanied with butter milk, yogurts and nuts, and give an amazing delicacy.

Khaman Dhokla, Doodhpak, and Shrikhand are some of the other delicious delights that people from all over India love. The variety of food is amazing while being healthy. Gujaratis are very fond of food, and make generous use of salt, sugar and chilies in their recipes.

The food arrangement in a wedding completely depends on the place the family belongs to, like South Gujarat, North Gujarat, Kathiawad or Kachchh. Every place has its own specialty and that reflects in the Gujarat matrimony celebrations.

Maharashtra Beach Wedding

Maharashtra has some of the most beautiful and eye-catchy places to visit, making it a favourite destination for tourists as well as locals.  I love the amazing coastline, where water wave touch the feet of high peaks of mountains, temples and adjoining villages. The miles of pristine beaches are one of the best places to celebrate ones’ beach wedding of his/her dreams. There are a number of places in Maharashtra, which offer quiet and exotic atmosphere for both Marathi matrimonial as well as honeymooning couples.

Five hundred miles of beaches running along the Arabian Sea have a number of luxury resorts or hotels where one can stay after having a peaceful beach wedding. Although the customs and rituals related to Marathi matrimonial are quite traditional and parents want their children to get married in a very traditional manner. However, with the changing trends and change in the lifestyle of youngsters, some of the couples also organize beach wedding after having traditional ceremonies.

In recent years, the couples from other parts of India have also been approaching Maharashtra for mesmerizing beach weddings. The sparkling beaches and exotic flowers can make the Marathi matrimonial a wonderful and unforgettable occasion. Beach wedding packages offered by the hotels and resorts are also very alluring and affordable that can make your dream true.

The best deals include full-service wedding packages, which also include offers for the family of the bride and groom. To have the best beach decorations and music, you can hire a wedding planner, leave the work on them, and enjoy a perfect beach wedding. The wedding planners are there to take care of the food and live music, all you need to do is to call your family and friends and cherish every moment.

To enjoy the local nightlife during the beach weddings, you can try some outskirt areas, which are less crowded, which are Marve, Manori, Gorai, etc. Morning or afternoon is considered as the most auspicious time for conducting rituals in Maratha matrimony

Pre-Wedding Rituals in Devanga Matrimony

Devanga community is purely a Hindu community from Karnataka and the rituals followed in Devanga matrimony are similar to Hindu marriage. The differences are only due to the regional impacts.

The marriages in Devanga community is mainly fixed through mediators or marriage consultants who keep an updated the list of prospective brides and grooms. Such marriage consultants are contacted by the boy and girl’s parents, and arrange meetings between the families as well as the girl and boy. Alike other Hindu communities, Devangas strictly believe in arranged marriages and matching the horoscopes before finalizing any alliance. Engagement is the time when the families of both the girl and boy make a formal announcement of the wedding and the wedding date.

A day before the wedding day in Devanga Matrimony, the bride arrives the marriage hall and seeks the blessings of the god. The first ritual is harisna, wherein the married women of the family apply oil and turmeric on the hands and feet of the bride. Harisna is followed by the bangle ceremony, where the married women as well as the bride wear the new bangles.

The bride is then bathed with the ceremonial water and various other rituals are continued for the whole night. On the wedding day, the groom wears dhoti and carries an umbrella while visiting the temple. This ritual is called as kashiyatra. The parents of the bride meet the groom at the temple and they wash the groom’s feet, on a silver plate. After a number of the pre-wedding rituals, the groom moves to the marriage hall for sacred thread tying ritual, surprisingly called as mangalsutra, which is for the married women in Northern India.

Mangalsutra marks the end of bachelorhood of the groom and a start of the married life. A grand lunch is arranged for all the invitees. After all the wedding rituals a reception is thrown in honour of the bride and the bridegroom, where the invites give their blessings to the newlyweds.

Wedding - An Awesome Event to Enjoy Your Passion of Photography

Wedding Photograph
Recently one of my friends got married, which was a traditional Assamese matrimony that lasted for one night and two days. There were presence of so many relatives and friends, all counting for more than 500 guests. The bridegroom arrived at 11.30 pm, and by the time everything was over, it was the next day morning.

All of my friends were enjoying there but I was busy in clicking photographs. My complete focus was on capturing all the beautiful moments that was being experienced there during the Assamese Matrimony. I went to see my friend who was being dressed up as a bride, she looked mesmerizing in that golden and off white bridal Mekhla Chadar. Her hands and feet were colored with alta, of which I took a close shot. I also captured her blushing eyes, which were looking astonishing with the touch of kohl.

I was trying hard to have a glimpse of the groom who was surrounded by his in-laws and busy in various rituals. I got enough stuff to capture there, beautiful diyas, rangoli and colorful decorations; oh there was so many things that was so beautiful and eye catchy.

The gate was decorated traditionally with two banana plants on its both sides; such plants represent auspicious beginning and good luck. The gate was constructed very neatly, which compelled me to take some shots of that place.

I got some awesome shots of the wedding rituals, like saptapadi, sindoordan, kanyadan, and many other rituals of Assamese matrimony. Some interesting and auspicious things were available at the place of wedding, which served as great photogenic elements.

As far as my conception, a wedding is the best place to capture artistic shots, all you need to do is to forget who is watching you and go for the best possible shots with complete dedication and accuracy.
